Destiny: Qodron is a whore

Ok, Qodron is not really that bad.

First complaint.  Strategies. A strategy is not “load up Gjallarhorn and take it out with 42 rockets ermahgerd!”  That’s just easy to do for those who have a Gjallarhorn. It’s also flat out retarded to use that as a suggestion considering that there are a lot of people who don’t have a Gjallarhorn. I’m included in that bunch as well as the two people I completed Qodron with last night.

Yes, that way is quicker without a doubt, but you should be less of an ass when providing a strategy for others to use.

Here is what we did.  I was using my 33 Hunter (Bladedancer). The other guys were a 33 Titan and a 32 Titan (both Defenders).  We walked in, unleashed a quick salvo of rockets and then headed to the right side. There is some decent cover there, but I think the best part would be the firing lanes you can use on the adds including the Eye of Qodron.

Use the cover as best as possible while keeping an eye out for the Eye (a goblin or hobgoblin, I don’t remember which, but it glows a little).  We tried to all look for it at first, but it worked much better when one person tried to take out the Eye and get the Jailbreak buff to get everyone out of containment.

The other two of us spent our time taking out adds and sniping at Qodron’s weak point. Icebreaker (at 365 atk) was doing a little over 3000 damage per shot there while hitting for around 1500 anywhere else. A better sniper rifle with higher impact might have helped here.

It took us a few tries to get that idea going, but it ended up working well enough to finish.

You don’t need Gjallarhorn.  I think I saw someone call it a Gjallarcrutch before.  Reading people’s strategies makes that pretty obvious.  That being said…  I would still love to get one!
