10-17-17 Destiny 2 Weekly Reset

Edit:  Bungie changes the Nightfall due to some issues with the one at reset.

So, people are playing all kinds of games these days.  Even myself.  I’ve spent time playing things like Forza 7, Turing Test, and Super Mega Baseball.  Why?  Everyone has different reasons, of course.  Me?  I’m not really sure why to be honest.  I still enjoy hopping into Destiny 2.  Sure, there doesn’t seem to be much to do once you hit 300 base power level on all three characters, but…  well, you know.

Target:  Pyramidion

  • Prism – A focused element rotates periodically.  Your attacks that match the focused element deal increased damage.  All other elemental damage is reduced.  Kinetic and incoming damage are not affected.
  • Timewarp – Rings – Vex time gates have appeared in the area.  Pass through them to discharge temporal energy and extend the mission timer.

  • Speed of Dark – Complete the Nightfall with at least 5 minutes remaining
  • Unbroken – Complete the Nightfall with fewer than 3 deaths
  • Siege Engine – Do not let Brakion to remain shielded for more than 40 seconds before defeating it

The Flahspoint is the only one that is likely to change from week to week, but these are things that you can do in game in order to acquire “Powerful Gear.”  These Legendary Engrams will decrypt higher than your power level.

Flashpoint: Titan – Don’t forget to get the treasure maps from Cayde before you head to the Titan!  Complete Public Events on Titan

Nightfall:  Complete the weekly Nightfall Strike

Call to Arms:  Win glory by participating in Crucible matches.

Clan XP:  Earn Clan XP in strikes, raids, the Crucible, or world activities.

Raid: Complete The Leviathan.

The Leviathan

The Gauntlet – Run around in circles and shoot triangles.  What?  That’s essentially the gist of it.  Plus two of you get to kind of play Tic Tac Toe.

The Prestige Mode is supposed to come out later today.  We’ll see if Bungie has squashed the bug that caused the release of this version to be postponed.

I was thinking about adding the Eververse store’s weekly stock, but it’s not really that useful.  Sure, maybe you’re looking for a particular emote (Confused, Six Shooter) or Ornament (Jade Countenance-Fighting Lion, The Future is Chrome-Hard Light).  Maybe you’re looking for more shaders that you really like (Vanguard Magnus Gloss, Hakke History Polish, Dawn and Dusk).  Then there’s the ships and sparrows (Chronoglass Sparrow, Breakpoint ship, Eriana’s Vengeance ship), but why would you need me to tell you what’s available this week?  That’s just silly

A clanmate of mine is looking to put my reset post away now.  He’s been delving into the Bungie API and he’s created a nifty little webpage that lists a bunch of things from the weekly reset as well as things that are reset daily like the Iron Banner daily milestone.  I think that he needs to re-order his list, however, since Iron Banner is an event that is now over.  He is still working on it, though, so he’ll get the kinks worked out.

So maybe I’ll keep typing this stuff up on Tuesday mornings.  Maybe not.  We’ll see.  Probably will.  It’s kind of relaxing in a way.  Then again, I’m barely awake as it is.  Y’all take care now!
