There are some important things happening today and in recent weeks. High school seniors are saying goodbye to their secondary school careers. College seniors are finishing up their studies and heading out into the world to begin their careers and the rest of their lives.

Congratulations to all of the graduates! Welcome to the real world. Enjoy your stay!

But seriously. Don’t take anything for granted.

Be kind. Be humble. Be yourself. Do what you enjoy, but be responsible.

Be human.

Dream. Live that dream. Live every day and treat those you love and care about as if you may never see them again. Visit your grandparents. Keep in touch with your friends but remember that family is always going to be more important. Be there for them because they will always be there for you.

Work hard but don’t overwork. Be committed to what you are doing and the sky is the limit.

Love someone with all of your heart.

Don’t let others tell you how to live your life. Consider their opinions and suggestions but the decision is all yours in the end.

Don’t rush! You only live once and there is no reason to make everything happen quickly. We’ll all get to the same destination at the end in our time.

Never stop learning. You will never know everything no matter what you think.

Pay your bills and pay them on time.

Live below your means. Just because you can afford doesn’t mean that you need to buy it.

Learn the difference between needs and wants. You may want something but do you really need it?

There is so much more that could be said but I honestly can’t think of more right now. You’ve finished an important part of your lives and are embarking on a new portion of your journey. Enjoy every second!
